Something New for 2022 – Lubell Park
The 2022 Snake Race will be on the newly renovated trails at Lubell Park.
Located at 52rd Street and 33rd West Ave. , the trails at Lubell Park are great for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities; walkers and runners. The bike challenges are great for practicing your run form.
These trails maintain the mostly (more than relative) flat and sandy running surface you love with the Snake Run. The course will be a single 2-mile loop. Runners will pass through the finish line after each loop.
You can count on the standard tradition of great aid stations, post-race hamburgers, and top-notch volunteers.
This race will likely sell out so get signed up soon.

The 2022 Snake Run is single two-mile loop on Mary’s Loop at Lubell Park. After each loop you will pass through the start/finish area which is full of volunteers, spectators, and plenty of food and drink.
Participants run as many of these loops as they can in six or three hours. The longest distance wins. If people have the same distance the win goes to the person who finished the last loop first. Only fully completed laps are counted – no partial credit if you are on the course at the end.
There is only the 2-mile loop this year. Runners must complete the full loop and pass through the finish line arch for credit. There is no short loop so spend your energy and time wisely.
You can run any number of loops to complete the challenge of the Snake Run, for example:
- One loop (2 miles) and have a hamburger and beer while you cheer on the other participants. You still go home with a finisher’s medal.
- Two loops (4 miles) and have a longish 5K under your belt.
- Seven loops for a slightly longer-than-normal Half-Marathon (13.25 miles)
- Eight loops for a 25km (plus change)
- 14 loops for an official Full Marathon with an ultramarathon kicker (28 miles)
- 17 loops for a plus sized 50K

Our aid stations are manned by the best volunteers in the area. Most are trail and ultra runners themselves and anticipate your every need - probably before you know you need it.
Snake Run wouldn't be possible without the help of great volunteers. Sign up for a shift at our volunteer website (coming soon). Don't worry if you are new to the volunteer scene. You'll be working alongside and learning from the best of the best.
We have spots that are good for families. We have spots that are good for sitting in the woods alone to ponder the meaning of life. Sign up and enjoy the fun.
